Dog Care in Utah FAQ:
Q: What types of animals do you groom?
A: All breeds of dogs and cats, as well as many other domesticated pets.
Q: How often should my pet be groomed?
A: That depends on the type/condition of your pet's coat but a general time frame is anywhere between 4 and 8 weeks. Many people have their pet groomed every other week or even every week.
Q: How long will it take to groom my pet?
A: Grooming time depends on many factors: the breed of pet, their coat condition and the type of style you want are just a few. Your groomer can estimate the time needed when they see your pet.
Q: Why should I have the ear hair pulled out of my dog's ear?
A: It's good to remove the hair from inside the ear canal to allow air to get in and keep the ear canal dry. That will help prevent your dog's ears from becoming infected. It's also a good idea to do this if your pet is prone to ear infections.
Q: When should I have my pet nails trimmed?
A: Your pet should have its nails trimmed every 4 -6 weeks. It really is important to keep nails short. Long nails can cause many problems for your pet. Excessively long nails can cause damage to your pet's feet.
Q: Do you sedate the animals?
A: No, we do not sedate the animals. If your pet is prone to stress or aggression, then you will need to have your pet sedated by a veterinarian.
Q: Do you do teeth cleaning?
A: We do teeth brushing and breath freshening treatments. If your pet has a great deal of plaque on their teeth and your pet's gums are red and irritated, then you need to take your pet to a veterinarian.
